Some new pieces

Well, I have an upcoming show in Longview in a few weeks, so I have put together some new pieces I will be showing and offering for sale.

There will be new details on the show in a few days posted on my website so keep checking back.

This piece is actually from a photo that I took at my barn. What a magical moment between mother and baby. This foal is part Andalusian and is going to be quite beautiful! Her mother had such a unique face with one blue eye.

"A Mother's Love"

Pastel on Suede 16 x 20

This is another foal from my barn "Emily" with her mother. In this painting she is only a few days old and glued to her mother's side.

It won't be long until she is independant and running around on her own!

Max continued...

This is the sketch of Max, the first step which once approved, allows me to begin adding the fine details that will bring Max to life!

It may not look like much in the first stages, but the layers of colours allow me to add depth to the final portrait. The eyes are the most important for capturing the personality of the animal. Max has the most beautiful expression just in his eyes. They tell such a story.

Commission: "Max"

One of my current commissions is a beautiful purebred lab named Max.

Unfortunately Max has since passed away, but will never be forgotten by his loving owners. They have chosen me to capture Max in a portrait.

I am so lucky to meet such wonderful people through my art, and even more blessed to hear about the special bond they share with their pets.

I will update frequently as the portrait of Max progresses.

This is Max's photo. Isn't he beautiful?

Well, I thought I would update my website with a blog, where I will display new works, current commissions and just keep you all informed with whats new.

I have been busy still getting organized from the move to Alberta, working a full time job, and working on commissions. I rarely find time to create artwork just for myself.

Today, however, I set up our new puppy Diego with a pair of my pink cowboy boots. I got some adorable reference photos, and created this:

Feel free to comment! There will still be some tweaking to do, but I kind of like it so far!
